Accurate water quality data is important in the interpretation of the actual status of aquatic environments .However, data quality is only as good as the water sample where they are derived from, if good water sampling techniques are utilized. Therefore, good water sampling techniques and on-site water analysis are important to ensure the preservation of the water sample integrity and accuracy of on-site recorded data.
The aim of this workshop is to provide delegates with the necessary knowledge and skills regarding:
The origins of the water we know
Where water is used and sources of pollution
Why do we want to measure water quality?
Where and how do we choose our sampling sites?
Procedures to follow for taking proper water samples
What do I test for?
How to interpret color chart results from in-situ analyses
How to interpret laboratory-generated results
